I have a question for native English Speakers. There was a stuntman, who played Spider-Man character in 1977-79 TV show. His name was Fred Waugh. He is already dead and most of his fans know about his death. With this in mind, please take a look at the following sentence:
I heard that Fred Waugh had owned a costume from the show and that he had sold it to someone.
Does this sentence make sense? and in this way, can the sentence imply "before he passed away." or "when he was alive."
