    riding bikes

What is the difference between the two sentences? Which is correct?

    1. They were riding a bike to the beach.
    2. They were riding bikes to the beach.

    Re: riding bikes

The first suggests that they were riding one bike to the beach.
The second suggests that there were two or several bikes involved.
