Is there a mistake in this sentence ?" while "...

    Hello my dear friends,
Is it correct to use " while" followed by " the past simple tense " as the following:
( The mother waited patiently while the child played in the park )
It is written in a set book for the preparatory stage in Egypt.

    Yes, it's correct.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
