Can I omit "an" before item while requesting them to be created

    I want to write:

Create item A, then item B, and finally item C.

    OR

    Create item-A
    create item-B
    create item-C.

    Can I do so ?
Will it be gramatically right to omit "an" before "item"?

Re: Can I omit "an" before item while requesting them to be created

Thank You Sir. If I have to explain this to my kid. Would I be right when I tell him that "since we are enumerating items, the article "an" can be omitted"? Please advise.

Re: Can I omit "an" before item while requesting them to be created

It's because 'item A' is the name of the item. You'd have to know what item A, etc. were for the instructions to make sense. So, it's like "Draw Mary, then Tom", not "Draw a Mary, then a Tom."
