    Which one is correct

    I am describing something that used to happen in the past:

    Version 1:
    She would briefly look over the beds, but would not notice him.

    Version 2:
    She would briefly look over the beds, but did not notice him.

    Which one is correct?

    Version 1 is correct.
    Version 2 is incorrect.
