    Left + Away

    "You have been left away".
I'm not so sure if it makes sense to use the word "away" with the verb "leave". What I want to say is "You have been cast aside".
These things are hard for a not-native guy...
    Thanks in advance.

    ***** NOT A TEACHER *****

    Hello, Fbs:

Do you by chance [maybe] mean something like this:

"Mona and Tony invited some people to their mountain cabin. I, however, was left out." = They did not invite me.

"When I arrived at the party, I discovered that my name had been accidently left off the invitation list. = My name was not on the list.

"Mona started to cry when she realized [discovered] that she had been left waiting at the altar." = She went to the church to get married, but her fiance NEVER came to the church. He had gotten cold feet (= decided that he did not want to marry her).

    Re: Left + Away

Or Mona was left behind when her fiance had suddenly left the wedding.

    Not a teacher.
