My friend asks if I need investors for a new business. I say:

I did a few months back but I've managed to make all the funds I need/needed for the new products.

Are both okay? Is there a slight difference in meaning?

    Both are possible.
"Needed" suggests I've finished setting up the business. I don't need the investors' money anymore, and I can possibly pay it back.
"Need" suggests that I still need that money for setting up or running the business.

If he raised all the funds he needs where is the ongoing need?

Then why did you ask the question?

I still am not sure if it should be need or needed. After studying it for longer I think need is the best choice.

If you have the funds and have future spending from them, then need works for me.
