I'm starting to get the hang of the flap t. But, when a Native American ENGLISH speaker make the flap t sound in words like gotta, matter, and pretty, does their tongue feel rounded or pointed. What I'm basically saying here is when the tongue tap against the ridge, does it feel like using only the triangular tip of your mouth or does it feel like using the tip of a rounded tongue. Using the tip of a rounded tongue means more of the tongue is actually touching the ridge as oppose to the tiny area in the triangular tip of the tongue. I'm sorry if this question seems vague.
