Hi,

*self-made*

- I am just a student who has to do my/his homework all the time.

I would like to ask if I should use 'my' or 'his' in the sentence. I gather both are OK but 'his' could refer to another person, for example a bully guy.

Thanks.

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

Hello, Ademoglu:

I shall keep my opinion to myself.

I do, however, suggest that you go to the Google search engine and type in:

I am a person who ... do / does? Word Reference Forums

That link does not work, James.

Please find the thread you are referring to and cut and paste the URL (that's the line at the top beginning forum.wordreference.com/threads).

What I concluded after the post that you shared is that we can use 'his' or 'my' in my original post, I think.

What is the word "grammar" doing at the end of your sentence?

You could but it would be tautologous in my opinion. Students are never given someone else's homework to do. If you are given homework, it is for you to do. It is, by definition, your homework and therefore your own homework.

I agree with emsr2d2. I would use 'his' in that sentence.
