    they do everything else

    Can one use:
    1) They will get through this the same way they do everything else.
    instead of:
    2) They will get through this the same way they get through everything else.

    I am not sure that '1' means the same as '2'. It seems that it is saying they will get through this and they will do that they way they do everything else. One might argue that it boils down to the same thing, but I am not sure it does.
