    passivization

    How are you today?

    It's midnight here in Korea.

    I have a question about passivization.

    (a) Nobody believes that he is rich.

    -->passivization

    (b) * It is believed that he is rich by nobody.
    (c) It is not believed that he is rich by anybody.
    (d) * He is believed to be rich by nobody.
    (e) He is not beliebed to be rich by anybody.

    I'd like to know why (c) and (e) are only right passivized sentences of (a).
    Is there any rule?

    Thanks in advance
    Spoon

    Re: passivization

    To me, it's not so much a question of their being wrong as of their not being used.
