    equals or equal

    I am authoring a web page and thought this copy looked wrong.
    "When does integrity and respect equals dishonesty?"
    I thought the correct way was to use "equal" instead of "equals"
    Any help much appreciated

    I would choose 'equal' too. And 'do' instead of 'does'. However, I don't understand the conundrum.
