    How many times larger?

    Hello, teachers.

    I've found the following:

    1. How many times larger than the moon is the earth?

Does the following mean the same thing?

    2. How many times larger is the earth than the moon?

If so, which is more common, #1 or #2?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, they mean the same thing.

Without consulting some kind of corpus, I couldn't tell you if one was actually more common than the other.

Personally, I prefer the first, because it's easier to say and follow, but that's more of a personal choice.
