    A Vocabulary Question

    Could you please help me about this question ???

    "I called Martin last night to tell him it would be hard to meet the deadline, but ........ I tried, he just wouldn’t take no for an answer"


    a) regardless how
    b) however hard
    c) whatever
    d) no matter.

    For me, A would require an "of" before "how".

    Even then, I would find "regardless of how I tried" unnatural, without the use of "hard" after "how".
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
