    It surprised us what she said

    Hello,

    *self-made*

    1- What she said surprised us. (It is OK)

    2- It surprised us what she said.

    Could you please tell me if the second one is grammatically OK or not.

    To me, 1) is grammatically correct and is the one I'd use when writing.

    2) is colloquially used in BrE, as Rover_KE indicated, but even then my feeling is that it would very often end with a few additional words to say when, or where, the surprise took place:

    "What she said surprised us last night / at work / in the pub / on the train / in the group discussion."

    However, to make them grammatically correct my feeling is that I would put the highlighted elements after the word, "said":

    "What she said last night / at work / in the pub / on the train / in the group discussion surprised us."
