Please Help me with these sentences

The gift of verbal ability is an open door to expressing our thoughts and feelings.

This sentence doesn't sound right to my ear.

Slowly peel off the wrapper leaving one tiny corner exposed.

Does this sentence need something or someone to do the action or will that change the meaning

Re: Please Help me with these sentences

I think both sound right but the second sentence is Imperative so it's like it have an invisible pronoun 'you'.

    Not a teacher.
