Them that liked it could have it!

    Hi,

Not sure if I understand the phrase them that liked it could have it! correctly. Can anybody help me?

Tough going, but it would be even worse than death to stick in a dead burg like Salvation Wells. Way outa the world —them that liked it could have it! Another two days and he would have gone nuts himself. What a laugh the boys in 'Frisco would have when he told them about them damned billy-goat Elders!

    Thank you

I am really not sure if I understand it correctly but it seems to me he wants to say something like "the place is off the beaten track, I could not live there on any account, but if the local people like the place, let them live there."

If you want a more grammatical version, you could use those who/the people who.
