    What does "headed to" mean?

Later on, Elle and Joy headed to Joan’s on Third for a bite to eat for lunch.

I though it mean "see". Is it correct?
    "later on" why is "on".
"a bite" what does it mean?

Joan's is a restaurant on Third (street or avenue). "Headed to" means went to. A "bite" is a small meal.

Thank you, Skrej. I have deleted the other post with the same title as Mike has already answered this one.

It means they went in the direction of Joan's.
