Post "we were blown on our side"

    dear teachers,

    i've met a sentence:
"we missed an iceberg by 20 feet. Nine times, I climbed to the top of her 90-foot mast. we were blown on our side in the Southern Ocean."

I have difficulty in understanding "we were blown on our side".
    what does here mean?

    is it "sailing by wind"?

I'll be very appreciated if someone help me to understand this.

    thank you.

Is it "sailing by wind"? No. The yacht was blown completely over onto its side.

I'll be very appreciative if someone helps me to understand this.
Start every new sentence with capital letter.
