Can this be said: I'll come out and see if I can find you. VS I'll come out to see

    Can this be said:

I'll come out and see if I can find you.

    VS

I'll come out to see if I can find you.

    Are both okay?

To me, in BrE, they both work, but there is a slight difference in emphasis between the two.

The first sentence is saying, "I will come out and [,while I'm out there,] see if I can find you".

The second, "I'll come out to see if I can find you", is saying "I'll come out specifically for the reason of trying to find you".

I don't know if AmE uses this difference in emphasis.

For me, in both cases, finding the person is the motivation. I see no substantive difference.
