    Original/master copy.

I have a file, I want to label the file name I will know that that copy is the original version from the vendor, and I will not accidentally edit it in future.

How should I name the file?

My thoughts of some file name:
    original copy
    original copy do not edit
    master copy
    master copy do not edit
    do not edit
    first version downloaded
    first version
    original version
    original download
    downloaded

    Any better suggestions?

    Thanks

    "Original" works for me.

    Re: Original/master copy.

I frequently refer to them as master copies or original copies. Sometimes I'll just label something 'master' or 'original'.
