    Quote and reply widths varying?

Not sure if it's the site or just my computer (using a different one than I normally do), but the widths of responses seems to be changing. As a post gets longer, with more replies, the width of the responses and quote boxes seems to become very narrow.

This thread is one example. Things are normal until post #10, which narrows, then post #11 is quite narrow with extreme line wrapping.

Edit. Scratch the theory regarding the number of posts. This post is very narrow as the first post. When I go to edit, the toolbox and white editing area are narrow as well.

Edit #2. Now this post it back to regular width, as is the editing interface.

I think it has something to do with these annoying ads that keep appearing in some posts.

Some work is being done at the moment on the code that controls display. If something like this appears and disappears, it will probably be because of that. It should lead to faster page load time. I apologise for any inconvenience. Please let us know if anything looks funny, though.

I don't know of or see any ads that appear in posts. I will check with Red5.

Ads are certainly appearing in my posts, and that's what makes the text narrow. The ads are personalised (mine is an Aussie ad). I suppose it's possible that random posts are narrowed for later insertion of an ad.

Yes, mine are personalised, too. What I find interesting is that your last post was narrow-width, with a Czech ad on the right, when I first looked at it. Now that I am replying, the ad has disappeared and your post appears full-width. If an ad appears in a post of mine when I first submit it, my post is narrow-width, and remains so even if the ad later disappears.

The same problem happened at my end too, but it, together with the 'Thanks' and 'Like' buttons, has just disappeared suddenly.

Re: Quote and reply widths varying?

Hi. As Tdol suggested I am working on adjusting some of the settings on the site so things have been switched on and off while testing.

I've switched new ads on for some users, and The Likes/Thanks buttons should be back now.

I'm not a teacher, so please consider any advice I give in that context.

Re: Quote and reply widths varying?

I don't see any adds, but then I run Adblock, so maybe I was just seeing the blank spaces where the ads should have been.

The spacing seems to have cleared up, and was random. Probably coincided with the testing Red mentioned.

The ads have disappeared from my posts also. Thank you, Red.
