I am writing to ask if you would be so kind as to send me a signed photograph.

    Hi

Does the following read well, or should it read differently?

"...I am writing to ask if you would be so kind as to send me a signed photograph."

    Many thanks

I would write: I would appreciate it very much if you would send me a signed photograph (of yourself?).
I am not a teacher or a native speaker.
