    Question HELP! Want some idioms about "phoenix"and"peacock"

    i want some idioms about "phoenix" and "peacock"
    or how you think about these two animals
    for instance,if someone is proud of himself,he is called peacock.
    i should hand in this report this week
    (i'm a chinese student)

    The only idiom for "phoenix" that occurs to me is:

    1. ...a phoenix rising from the ashes...

    The expression I have heard used is 'peacock pride'.
    In addition to Mr P's expression, we can say phoenix-like as a way of describing someone rising from seeming defeat.
