    Red face present perfect

    Hello folks,

Let's say I am writing a book right now which is my third one, how would you put this sentence?

'This is the third book I have written.'

or: 'This is the third book I am writing.'

Which version is correct, and why? Are both correct?

I know that in the following sentence only the version below is correct even if I am writing my third book right now.

'This is the third time I have written a book.'

and not: 'This is the third time I am writing a book.'

    Looking forward to your opinions

    Re: present perfect

For me, your first two offerings are incorrect. The first is wrong because this book has not yet been written. The second is wrong because the first two books had already been written.

At the end, I would write, "I am writing this book, my third."

This could work if you changed is to will be.
