Any adjective used morecommonly than 'proud'?

    Hi there,

Is there any other term used for 'proud', a person believing he is more important than others, which is more commonly used in everyday conversations?

Arrogant, narcissistic, megalomanical, self-obsessed, haughty ...
It really depends on why he thinks he's more important than others. Maybe he is in some way? Otherwise you'd need a few other characteristics to get closer to the right word.

We often talk about such people with the opposite approach, the good quality he lacks: modesty, or humility.
