    All right maybe

    Hello,

I would like to ask somebody if the lyrics by the female singers between 1:34 - 1:45 are "All right baby, all right maybe" (I have trouble a little bit in understanding it).

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTaUSmsFmyk

    Thank you

    Re: All right maybe

    I hear it as:

"If it's right with you baby,
If it's all right with you baby,
If it's all right with you baby,
    It's all right with me".

This website appears to agree with that. http://www.allthelyrics.com/lyrics/t...s-1205111.html

    Re: All right maybe

I can understand what the guy sings but what I am focused on is what the girls sing. It seems to me the part of the lyrics I am not sure about is:

If itīs all right with you baby (all right baby)
If itīs all right with you baby (all right maybe)
If itīs all right with you baby (all right ...)
    Itīs all right with me.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: All right maybe

Sorry for misunderstanding the question Johnyxxx. You mentioned female singers in your initial post.

Strangely enough I just take that to be one woman's voice which has been digitally enhanced. I hear it as mirroring him throughout that section. You are right it's not that clear. I think of her as being one woman, because he is singing to one woman.

In my opinion, it fits as her singing "all right baby", because it is a feel good song; a feeling which develops as the song progresses.

The first chorus, just has him singing alone. The second (the one in question) not only has the woman joining in, but also ending the chorus in harmony with him, by both singing "all right with me", meaning that she definitely sees it as being all right.

Using "maybe" in the context of a feel-good song would introduce doubt, and contrast, which I think may be why you are asking the question.

So, I don't think there is anything deeper going on here.

To me, this is a feel-good love ballad, along the traditional lines of:

Boy asks girl "Are you interested in me? Because, I'm interested in you."
Finally girl responds "Yes I'm interested in you too."
[Both go off, hand in hand, into the sunset as the music fades. ]
