    save yourself the aggravation

May I ask what "save yourself the aggravation" means?
Does it mean that you should not do something that could make you really mad or much worsen your current situation?
    Thank you

Do you have any context for us or at least a complete sentence?

Yes, that's what it means, and it works in 'smaller' situations as well. You might use it to suggest someone not go to a lot of effort when there wouldn't be much benefit. 'Save yourself the aggravation of cooking- let's order something in!'
