'A person who can't mingle with others soon...' (Any adjective?)

    Hi there,

Would you please give me the adjective(s) for a person who need to take time to mingle with other people. In gatherings, such people take their time to open up to others.

Friendly. Sociable. Outgoing. Extrovert. (For people who mingle at parties.)
Unfriendly. Unsociable. Shy. Timid. Boring. Rude. (For people who don't mingle at parties.)
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Hello,

I would say that the person was "reserved".

Doesn't it depend on how long it takes them to begin to socialise? I was wondering if there was an adjective particularly stressing how long it takes before they feel they can open up to others.

How long does it take for someone to get acquainted?

Slow to 'reveal emotion' or 'mingle with others' perhaps? (Reserved)
