    Resurrected

This sentence just popped up in my mind, and I wondering if it sounds natural. Would you please correct my mistakes?

Anna's father had been dead for more than 20 years, but when he saw someone who looked like him on the street, he thought he had been resurrected.

    Re: Resurrected

    Anna is a female name.

"when he saw..." therefore means 'when Anna's father saw...'

We generally do not expect to read about a dead person walking on the street and thinking about people who look like himself.

No, it does not sound natural.

    J@K
    I wrote wrongly.
    It should be
Anna's father had been dead for more than 20 year, but when she saw someone who looked like him on the street, she thought he had been resurrected.

    That's better!

    Re: Resurrected

How about 'Anna's father had been dead for over two decades, but when she saw someone resembling him on the street, she thought he had risen from the dead.'?

    Not a teacher.

    Re: Resurrected

The thread topic is 'resurrected'. An elegant sentence has been formulated.

There's no need to dumb it down.
