    Is and are question??

    I am looking at my daughters homework and and the homework says: The characters in the story is like me because

    I am puzzled and have asked others, shouldn't it read: The characters in the story are like me because????

    If it uses the plural "characters", it should be "are". One question mark is sufficient.
