    It's a lot of fun to watch this, but a) it's only a guess and b) English was almost as varied by region and class then as it is now.

    It's certainly late Middle English, which generally goes to about 1470. Skelton lived 1463 - 1529, which is generally considered the time of early Modern English. kon makes a good point.

    This is a comparatively easy dialect to understand. I remember reading things like Sir Gawain and the Green Knight at university, which was earlier and in a strong regional dialect, which were much harder to understand.
