such character traits as self-discipline and respect for laws

If honor code is introduced in Russia, it will establish a system of rules and ethical principles among students that improve their behavior. The aforementioned regulations will improve the discipline in schools and universities by administering punishment to violators. Therefore, honor code develops such character traits as self-discipline and respect for laws that are highly evaluated in a contemporary society.

I'm learning to write formal essays.

Are the sentneces above grammatically correct?
Can I say that "self-discipline" and "respect for laws" are character traits. I suppose they are not.
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.

Re: such character traits as self-discipline and respect for laws

I would accept "self-discipline" as a character trait but not necessarily "respect for laws" (which I would call "law-abiding").
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Thank you for your reply, ems. Honestly I think I mixed up the tenses. Two sentences arewritten with "will" whereas the last one without. What would you say?

    See above.

Re: such character traits as self-discipline and respect for laws

Can I say something like "If a code of honor is introduced in Russian academic institutions, it will establish a system of rules and ethical principles among students to change their attitude towards the education".

Is it clear what I am trying to say, I mean?

It's clear, but delete the article before education, or change it to 'their'.

I don't agree with teechar about 'code of honor'. The term honor code is widely used.
