    Understanding sentence

    Hi there :)
I'm reading an article about marketing and I encountered this sentence: "Aside from the noise they create, these products rarely pose a threat and usually take care of themselves"
I didn't understand how the products take care of themeselves, could you please explain for me?
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, Noriko Tan.

We need to know what 'these products' are.

    Thank you Rover :)
    Here's the original article: https://blog.intercom.io/only-competitor-that-matters/
The sentence is under the subtitle " The Elephant of All Trades"

    Re: Understanding sentence

As the products are application software, I think 'take care of themselves' means 'run automatically without the user having to do anything', but I am not a teacher.

    Re: Understanding sentence

After reading the article carefully, I think 'take care of themselves' in that context figuratively means something like 'kill themselves'.

    Not a teacher.

    Re: Understanding sentence

If so, I think the writer should have put quotation marks around 'take care of themselves', as it was used sarcastically, but I am not a teacher.

    Thank you all.
    I think I understood.
"The product will end by itself".
