    Which one is correct?

    which one is correct?

    I think he (has) said that he will come on the 7th of october(next week)?
    I think he said that he would come on the 7th of october(next week)?

    or

    I think he said he comes next week?

    I think both 'he said he would' and 'he said he will' are correct because backshift is optional in your context (next week), but I am not a teacher.
