    drone around the world
Praying in a doleful voice that drones round the world, thinking of anyone we know that we ought not to forget on our conducted tour, is boring. (Three Times Three Equals Twelve, page 49)

What does drones round the world mean in the above sentence?

    Re: drone around the world

The 'drone' in the site you linked us to is a noun. It's an unmanned aerial vehicle.

The drone in your quote is the verb.
