    to listen to his problems

    Is this sentence correct:
    1) He calls me at three in the morning to listen to his problems.

    Meaning:
He calls me at three in the morning so that I will listen to his problems.
He calls me at three in the morning to tell me his problems.

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Re: to listen to his problems

I'd use this: "He calls me at three in the morning to tell me his problems."
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

I wouldn't use it, but it is OK.
