    mains supplied compressed air

    Hello.

The company is to control and maintain procedures to assure the safety of mains supplied compressed air.

Does it means that "The company is to control and maintain procedures to assure the safety of compressed air which is supplied by mains"?

    Thank you.

Probably. If so, they should have used a hyphen, but hyphens seem to be a ticklish subject for some people (see this, for example).

    Re: mains supplied compressed air

Maybe, but not likely. Compressed air is not particularly harmful. It's air.

Probably it should read: 'The company is to control and maintain procedures to assure the safety of mains supplying compressed air.'

They are supposed to protect the air supply lines- either pipes or hoses.
