    Question It

    There had not been any system of currency in the traditional Indian economy.
    It had a small-scale production in family units of peasants and artisans.

    Does it means here 'currency' or 'traditional Indian economy'?

    Logic alone would tell you that it would be impossible for "it" to refer to "currency" in that sentence!
