    What/where it stems from

    Hello,

I am writing a formal letter in AE. Although my English as a secondary language is quite good, I doubt whether to use 'what' or 'where'
    in the following sentence:

'I am not sure what/where this interest stems from.'

I would like to hear some opinions by native speakers. Thanks a lot!

    Welcome to the forum.

    I'd use "where".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
