    about "being"

    hello
I have this sentence : it was so dark that we managed to avoid being seen.
my question : is that sentence is different from the sentence : it was so dark that we managed to avoid seeing her.
    if yes , so why
    thank you for your efforts

    Re: about "being"

The first sentence is passive- it means that no one saw them.

Note my changes to your post above, marked in red. It's important to follow these rules of written English at all times:

    - Start every sentence with a capital letter.
    - End every sentence with a single, appropriate punctuation mark.
    - Always capitalise the word "I".
    - Do not put a space before a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
    - Always put a space after a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.

    Don't put a space before a colon.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
