over a thousand times that much

    Hi,

Please, help me with the meaning of the next expression:

"Gedolf and Ure had hoped to make €70,000. They ended up making over a thousand times that much."

I think, they want to say they had planed to earn €70.000, but instead of this they could raise €70,000,000.

Is that the meaning of "over a thousand tiems that much"?

    Denis.

No, with "over", it means they made more than €70,000,000.
