    Ice-crusted

Would you please correct the mistakes in my sentences. I have tried to use "ice-crusted" in my sentences, but I am not sure if they sound natural.

1.The old man shuffled along the ice-crusted road, his walking sticks hitting the ground in regular intervals and making a crisp sound.
2.They walked over the ice-crusted lake, struggling against the strong wind, which burned their faces.
    3. The ice-crusted streets were almost empty, but for a few old men and women picking their way. ( or should I write instead, "...a few old men and women who picked their way".)

    Re: Ice-crusted

    Use "encrusted" instead of "crusted."

    Re: Ice-crusted

You could also say icy, although that would not, I think, work for the lake. In that case, perhaps you could say ice covered.
