    The powers that be

    Hello,

Does it sound natural to say I carry weight with the powers that be if I want to say to somebody I am friend with my bosses at work?

(don´t worry, you will get the job; I carry weight with the powers that be)

    Thank you very much

Maybe something like:"Hey, dudes, if you need anything, just let me know. I have an "in" with the powers that be. / I have an "in" with the suits."

    NOTES:

    1. An "in." = influence.

    2. The suits = the executives (who, of course, traditionally wear suits).
