    Needs or need to do

"He needs to do this" or "He need to do this". Which one to use if we are suggesting something?.

Re: Needs or need to do

It should be "needs" because "he" is singular.

Re: Needs or need to do

Tufguy, are you really not aware that the third person singular verb form takes an "s" on the end? You have been studying English for quite some time and you have posted over 1200 times on this forum.

The present simple form a verb is one of the most basic things you should have learnt right at the beginning of your studies. What made you think that "He need" could possibly be correct?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: Needs or need to do

Perhaps the OP had come across a subjunctive usage (that wouldn't be appropriate here) - something like 'He wasn't sure whether he need go.'

Re: Needs or need to do

Perhaps the OP had come across a modal usage like 'He need not do this.'

Re: Needs or need to do

Those are both possibilities but learning that in a declarative, standard sentence, the third person singular verb form takes an "s" on the end. I am fairly certain tufguy knows (or should know) this by now.
