    More on opening remark

    Dear tdol,
The following is what you suggested last time. I have one more question:

Suppose each student is only given 10 minutes to explain his thesis what will the chairman say? Should it go like the following:

'The purpose of this meeting is to afford people the opportunity to explain and defend their theses'. EACH STUDENT IS ALLOWED TEN MINUTES TO EXPLAIN HIS THESIS . I now call on xxxx to explain and justify his/her thesis...

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.

    Jiang

    Dear tdol,
Thank you very much for your help. Now I see.
By the way apart from 'explain and justify' can I use the word 'present'?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.
