I was so excited /that/ I was jumping out of my clothes

    Hello everybody.

I would like to know the meaning of "I was jumping out of my clothes". The whole sentence is: I was excited /that/ I was jumping out of my clothes.

Could you help me unravel the riddle?

I have found " to jump oit of skin" but I dont think it has anything to do with my question.

Someone might have said it, but it is not an idiom that I recognise.

He may have been literally jumping in loose clothes or simply mangling the skin idiom.
