    Welcome to the forums, sushil_k. Your sentence is grammatical but it probably doesn't mean what you want it to mean. It means "make the lamp weigh less than it does".

    If it uses electricity and you want it to function, then turn on the lamp would work. If it burns something like gas to provide the light, then light the lamp would work.
