    experiences- plural

A student of mine wrote the following sentence: One of my first cooking experiences was when my mum showed me how to make pasta.

I learned that experience only exists in the singular. But I wouldn't know how to rephrase the sentence so that it expresses what the student wanted it to express.
    Could you please help me?

    Re: experiences- plural

    Welcome to the forum, cloverleaf.

The sentence is fine. 'Experience' has both countable and uncountable meanings. Click here.
