    making examples using like + infinitive

    Both are acceptable.

    "Take" is fine because it's like saying "My parents ask me to take out the trash".

    "Taking" is fine because it's like this dialogue:
    A: My parents ask me to do stupid things.
    B: Like what?
    A: Like taking out the trash."

    Note my corrections to your post above, marked in red. Your profile says you are an English teacher. As such, it's important that you use correctly written English at all times.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
